Best of Mexico: CDMX to Oaxaca

CDMX: Feb 13-17, 2027 ● Oaxaca: Feb 17-21, 2027 (both co-ed)

Explore two of Mexico's most vibrant and unique cities back to back!

Our journey begins in Mexico City, where we'll travel back in time to the pyramids of Teotihuacán, test our guacamole making skills while floating down an ancient man-made river, and (of course) cheer along with the crowds at an epic lucha libre match!

Next stop: foodie paradise! Oaxaca is widely regarded as being one of the great cuisine capitals - but that's only the beginning of why this charming city has captured our hearts. We'll get off the beaten path and explore the hidden gems you won't find in a guidebook, all before ending the day with a delicious meal at one of Oaxaca's many Michelin star restaurants!

Short on time? Join us for just one segment - more info below!

Welcome to the West's Most Populous City!

Home to an estimated 25 million people, Mexico City is the busiest and most densely populated city in the Western hemisphere. With each of it's iconic neighborhoods feeling like a city of it's own, it can feel nearly impossible to allocate time across a 5-day trip - but that's where we come in! From the colorful trajineras of Xochimilco to the ancient pyramids of Teotihuacán, we've packed all the highlights and best kept secrets into this action packed 5-day itinerary. Mezcal, mole, and masks (lucha libre style!) await!

CDMX Highlights

  • Visit the pyramids of Teotihuacán and learn about it's mysterious history from a local expert

  • Deepen your understanding of Mexico's rich pre-Hispanic history at the Anthropology Museum

  • Sail down an ancient floating market in a colorful trajinera while being serenaded by the best mariachis in town

  • Experience the best of Mexico City's food scene - from the tastiest street tacos in the Zócalo to the hottest rooftop restaurants in Roma Norte

  • Cheer for your favorite hero (or villain!) in the ultimate battle between good and evil: lucha libre!

FAQs

Jalatlaco.HEIC

What if I'm coming solo?

Most of our travelers do! We'll take care of matching you with an awesome roommate (unless you opt to upgrade to a single room!)

Can you accommodate dietary restrictions and food allergies?

Absolutely! This is one of our specialities - gluten free, vegan, pescatarian - just let us know and we've got you covered!

How much money should I bring, and can I use my credit card?

This is very dependent on your personal spending habits - a great lunch can cost less than $10, but you'll also have opportunities to go out at night for drinks, take advantage of spa services, and do plenty of souvenir shopping, so we recommend a minimum of $200 USD.

Choose Your Own Adventure!

We designed this trip in two parts to make the adventure of a lifetime as accessible as possible. Spanning two weekends and Presidents' Day, this 9-day, 8-night adventure requires just 4 days of PTO! Still short on time? Not a problem - join us for just one leg of the trip - you're still in for an epic time!

For travelers on the full back-to-back expedition, we'll be in touch with some tips for booking multi-city flights, along with the recommended flight between MEX-OAX for a seamless transfer with the group!
